Notice in accordance with the Battery Act
As our consignments may contain batteries and rechargeable batteries, we are obliged under the Battery Act (BattG) to inform you of the following: Batteries and rechargeable batteries may not be disposed of with household waste, but you are legally obliged to return used batteries and rechargeable batteries. Used batteries may contain harmful substances that can damage the environment or your health if they are not stored or disposed of properly. However, batteries also contain important raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese or nickel and can be recycled. You can either send the batteries back to us after use or return them free of charge in the immediate vicinity (e.g. at retail outlets or municipal collection points or at our dispatch warehouse).
The return to points of sale is limited to the usual quantities for end users and to used batteries that the distributor carries or has carried as new batteries in its range.

The symbol with the crossed-out wheeled garbage can means that you must not dispose of batteries and rechargeable batteries in household waste. Below this symbol you will also find the following symbols with the following meanings:
Pb: Battery contains lead
Cd: Battery contains cadmium
Hg: Battery contains mercury
Special features for the sale of starter batteries
In connection with the sale of vehicle batteries, we are obliged to charge a deposit of EUR 7.50 including VAT per vehicle battery if you are an end consumer in accordance with § 10 BattG, if you do not return an old vehicle battery at the time of purchase of a new vehicle battery. The deposit is not included in the purchase price and is shown next to the final price on the item.
If you return an old vehicle battery to us which we carry or have carried in our range as a new battery in accordance with § 9 BattG, we are obliged to take it back free of charge within the framework of the statutory provisions and to refund the deposit amount.
If we have issued a deposit stamp in accordance with § 10 Para. 1 Sentence 3 BattG, the refund of the deposit when returning the old vehicle battery is dependent on the return of the deposit stamp.

Returning the used battery by post is not permitted due to the Dangerous Goods Ordinance.
Alternatively, used vehicle batteries can also be returned free of charge to recycling centers. The deposit charged by us will not be refunded by the public recycling centers.
